Welcome
We established in an effort to improve conditions at the dog pound and to alleviate the suffering of companion animals in Belmont County. Today with over 2000 members, we strive to make our shelter one of the best in Ohio. At the present time, approximately one-third of the operating funds for the shelter are provided by BCARL (Belmont County Animal Rescue League), including all funding for the care of animals. We have teamed with the local correctional facility to carefully select inmates to complete basic training for chosen dogs.

Dog license sales, fines and fund drives provide us with help in funding animal care (including spay/neuter), daily operations, improvements and employee salaries. With your help and support we can continue to save more animals.

If you like to "google", try using Goodsearch instead. Goodsearch is a search engine powered by Yahoo. Visit www.goodsearch.com and type in the name Belmont County Animal Rescue League where it asks for name of charity/organization. Every time you search the net, BCARL will receive a donation of a penny from Goodsearch. If everyone does this, the pennies will accumulate fast!

Save a Life

Did you know that there are over 10 million adoptable animals entering our nation's shelters each year--just waiting for a family to call their own? According to the ASPCA, approximately 5-9 million of these animals are euthanized in our shelters each year due to overcrowding. Welcoming a new dog into your home and your heart can bring years of happiness for all involved. Before you adopt, please make sure that you can give a lifelong commitment to a new dog or cat.
