I was almost 9 years old when I was taken from my owner because he allowed me to breed, but couldn't afford to treat my skin problems.  I spent quite awhile at the shelter with most people just passing me by because of my age even though I am a very sweet and friendly girl. Now that no longer matters, because someone has fallen in love with me. I have died and gone to doggy heaven. My new dad even bought me my very OWN bed, but I got the last laugh when I decided I wasn't the least bit interested in sleeping in it. I much prefer his, so guess where I get to sleep at night?!  Life is good. Woof!!
I came to the shelter as a stray. It was hard to believe no one would come looking for me because I am just so cute and sweet. After being at the shelter for a few weeks, I got a home. But, it was not meant to be because less than 24 hours later, I came back.  Evidently, I enjoyed marking my territory, and according to my former adopted family, I did it 14 times!  My new forever family adopted me and now I live in Pittsburgh. I will make an effort not to be so willing to mark my spot and my new family will help me do this, instead of punish me for it. Woof!

I came to the shelter because my former owner was ill. She couldn't take care of me anymore and her son wouldn't help her, so he brought me here even though she cried and begged him not to do it.  I am so sweet that I made lots of friends really quickly, so fortunately for me, someone met me and fell in love. So now, instead of my name being Sadie, it's Sophie and I have a whole new life with a whole new family and the future looks a whole lot brighter. Woof!

Hi everyone. Boy has life gotten better and better. My first family surrendered me to the shelter because when I killed a neighbor's chickens, he threatened to shoot me. Once here, it was discovered I had entropia, so I had to have eye surgery. When I recovered, I was sent to the local prison as part of the training program.  While there, a wonderful family came to visit me and before I even graduated, they decided they just had to adopt me!  I have a lovig family now, complete with siblings. Life can't get any better for me now. Woof!

Hey there. After 8 months at the shelter, I was finally adopted by a volunteer who came just about every day the whole time I was here to walk me.  She even took me on TV for Pet of the Week trying to find me a family. My former owner even saw me on TV, but wouldn't come to readopt me. I don't know why because I am a great guy, at least according to my new mom. I love to sleep with her under the covers and I'm even housebroken.  Now I don't have to worry about not being loved.  Woof!

Hi. I can't believe I'm finally outta here!  I came to the shelter when I was just a few days old along with my mom, Alex the husky and my brother, Frankie.  It was a long road we traveled once we got here. We had no shots or anything and then got sick. But we got better and the future looked brighter. Mom went to a rescue and Frankie got adopted. Then it was just me....and the other 110 dogs who were waiting for forever homes too.  Thankfully, someone finally fell in love with me and now I never have to worry about a lack of love again!   Woof.
When I came to the shelter, I was frightened and shy. With some coaxing, treats, and walks, I came out of my shell and became a friendly and exuberant guy who loves attention. I got to go on lots of adoption days, rides in the car, and all sorts of community events. And guess what?  It paid off, because forever love found me in an elementary school!! Woof.
I was brought to the shelter by my former family because they no longer wanted me.  ME!  The sweetest boy in the world.  I spent some months at the shelter wondering why no one was adopting me.  Then suddenly, I became very popular and everyone wanted me.  I now call Cleveland home and I am loving all the snow and cold weather, but I especially love my new family. Woof!

I was dumped in a cemetery along with my father and my littermate. We ran around for days before we could be caught. Once we were at the shelter, everyone fell in love with us because we were so cute, so it was only a matter of time before we found forever homes.  And we did!  Woof.

OMG!  It's a miracle. I came to the shelter just over a half a year ago. I was so bloodied with fur so mangled, it was hard to tell what I looked like. Someone found me on the side of the road. I had mange...still do as a matter of fact, but it is getting better. I am a little goofy; I go around in circles whenever I get stressed, which is frequently, and even with all that going against me, I have found a forever family to love me.  I am continuing all the meds I was on at the shelter, I visited my new vet, and my future looks so bright, I might have to start wearing sun glasses. Can you believe how lucky I have become?  Maybe I was born under a lucky star all along.  Woof!
Wow. I can't believe my good fortune. The end was near when I was picked to have my picture in the paper.  That gave me more time and that time was put to really good use. I was taken to an adoption day at Petco where I strutted my stuff and was as cute as could be.  And it worked!  Not one, but two families wanted to adopt me!  I am now living in Wheeling where my bowls (which are bigger than cups, so that's great too) runneth over with love!  Woof.
Dora the explorer here to share my good fortune with you. My first adoption fell through. I had kennel cough when it came time for me to be spayed, so I had to wait until I got better. The family who was supposed to be adopting me decided they didn't want to wait and went somewhere else to adopt a new family member. But, that's no big deal because soon, a new family met me and decided I was well worth the wait. Now I am surrounded by love and never have to worry again about being loveless and homeless. Woof!

Cast aside when a new baby came along, I thought it was all over for me.  However, whileI was at the shelter, I received so much attention from everybody, I figured there were worse places to be.  A lot of people applied for me, but only one could adopt me. I am now learning how to bark with a Candian accent because I call Ontario home!  Woof...I mean Eh!!
Seems like I have waited forever and ever to be able to say I HAVE BEEN ADOPTED!!! I can't believe my good fortune. I have joined two cats and the 3 of us get to live happily forever after with my new mom!  I am such a wonderful sweet boy I couldn't understand why it took me so long to find love, but in the end, all that matters is that I found it. Or, it found me!  Woof!

I was brought to the shelter by my former family when they decided to move and didn't want to take me with them.  Huh! I was miserable. I would make noises and it actually sounded like I was saying "mom".  Perhaps I was wondering where she went without me.  But, that's all in the past because I now have a new forever family and my new forever mom stays always in my sight so I never have to worry about being left behind again!
Yay for me!  I have been adopted after that one unsuccesful 20 minute adoption this summer.  Best of all,  I got to join Petey's (formerly known as Scrappy) family. So now I have a Basset/Beatle mix and a full blooded Basset as brothers. I am having a blast in my new home. Life couldn't be better. Woof!
. My original family surrendered me to the shelter claiming they had no time for me.  I was heartbroken, but got over quickly when I found out how many other people were willing to become my forever family. So now I am tucked safely in the love of my new and this time forever family where I will never have to worry again about love being temporary!  Woof!
From rags to riches!  I was unwanted, unloved, and frightened when I was dumped at the shelter a number of months ago. Then I got sick Fortunately, what little luck I had was on my side becauseI responded to treatment.  Then my luck improved, because one day a family came into the shelter looking for a new addition to love and they chose me to lavish it upon. Today, when they came to get me, they brought a fluffy blanket to wrap me in because it had started to rain and they didn't want me to get wet. It might have been cloudy and getting dark outside, but the sun was shining brightly on me!  Woof.

My name is Bernie. I came to the shelter as a little puppy. I'm still little because I am a Chihuahua, but I'm a little older now. I'm also a lot luckier now because I have found my forever home. So today is the first day of the rest of my life and I will never think about the past again!
